First you tell us that information overload is people write about when they have nothing to say, and then you give a 30 minute speech on it? Didn't have anything better to say?

Clay was once again inspiring and thought provoking. He comes at our world with a lateral slant that causes us to think in a completely different paradigm.

Great talk!

Nice mind expanding discussion of information filtering and how the method of information exchange affects the information itself.

i love this guy, found his book really thoughtful and hope to meet him soon, but i don't think this keynote was the best expression of his innovative and important thinking.

Clay used this opportunity to test out a new idea/talk. Filter Failure is an increasing issue for all of us, so the relevance of Clay's point of view and challenge was nothing short of informative and inspiring. Clay is onto the motivations, ideas, and potential problem-solving that planted ideas in my mind and carried over after the keynote into other discussions. A well-chosen speaker and topic (even though it wasn't a totally articulated vision, as opposed to Here Comes Everybody). Whereas Maria presented her personal history (instead of the DIY to building and growing a company), Clay spoke to the crowd and stirred up innovation that can head towards realized products (maybe even companies).

I usually like what Clay Shirky had to say, but I felt like this talk was unfocused and not fully formed. I hope he works on it a little better -- seems like it was the wrong venue for trying out a new talk.

Great speaker with lots of new and interesting ideas. I've heard his TED talk via podcast, so I was really excited about this keynote, but I was left with lots of wheels spinning in my head and not much of a conclusion or actionable next step. In fact, I don't think I recall what I actually took away from this one. Sorry, Clay.

An interesting speaker. However, the topic was not the revelation that he seems to think it is for us. Overstated. With the right topic though, Mr. Shirky could be really motivating.
