Web Analytics 2.0: Rethinking Decision Making in a "2.0" World

1:20 - 2:10PM on Wednesday, September 17 in 1A12 & 14

Change is the only constant on the Web at the moment, and for the conceivable future. Yet most decision making is still sourced purely from clickstream data, very limiting in a world where Ajax, Flash, Video, and Flex rule and Page Views are becoming less relevant with each passing hour.

This session presents a vision of the next generation of Analytics that dramatically expands the data sources used to make decisions on the Web and provides specific examples of how qualitative and quantitative data help you gain a complete picture of customer experience on your web site. Life is not just about conversion rates, it is about task completion rates as well. It is not just about measuring online impact but also offline impacts. Web Analytics 2.0 means leveraging competitive intelligence to understand your place in the ecosystem and learn from others.

You’ll leave the session with practical tips that you can implement as soon as you leave the conference room!

My favorite session of the conference so far. Avinash is so passionate and brilliant at what he does and it comes through when he speaks. I purchased his book prior to his session after overhearing other session go-ers talk about him. After attending his session, I'm even more eager to crack open the book.

Great session. Awesome information and Avinash is hilarious! The only complaint I have is that the title of the session was not descriptive enough. I almost didn't go to it because of the title. Suggested Title: "Analytic Dude From Google Talking. Come Take Notes."

Avinash is a fantastic presenter. He takes some really dry stuff and makes it clear and interesting.

Best session; he's a great presenter; took tons of notes of things I can do immediately for my site...and a free book to boot? what's not to like!

Can't wait to review his ppt again.

Best session of the event. Would never have guessed it.

So much more engaging than I expected from a session called "Web Analytics"! What an entertaining & informative presentation & I'd love to review the slides again. You brought a human face to a very dry subject. Plus, you gave us all a free book & are donating the profits to charity!

I was very impressed with both the speaker & the session itself, well worth my time.

Talk about passion. This was my #2 and it was close to #1. this was engaging, informative and made sense on so many levels. Plus he gave away his book. I'm such a fan, actually was even before this, but now, even more so.

I still can't figure out how he organized organic keywords to only display the top whatever amount that are sending traffic. Little help?

Great session, provided a lot of useful insight about how to leverage Google Analytics. Felt a bit too much like an Ad for Google Analytics, but Avinash did provide useful insight that I will use professionally.

This was one of the best sessions I attended. Avinash is a great speaker and delivered a very practical strategy for leveraging analytics. Great book also!

Avinash was one of the most entertaining speakers to listen to during the expo. You can tell he has a passion for what he does, which is what he was trying to infuse in the audience. We got a cool preview of features being rolled out as beta into GA, and he challenged us to forget about what we think is important and to look at statistical improbabilities instead. The free copy of his book didn't hurt, either!

There really wasn't any need for the Obama plug in his presentation

11:15AM Fri Sep 26, 2008

A brilliant presentation, but who would have known that only Democrats were employed and interested in the internet industry. Another presentation that pushed politics.....

02:00PM Fri Sep 26, 2008

The best session I have ever attended at a conference. Entertaining and directly valuable to my business.

02:10PM Fri Sep 26, 2008

Very good speaker but essentially a Google session. Was expecting a broader approach.
